Collision with USS Coral Sea during refueling on Nov 4, 1963 two days out of Yokosuka while in transit to the US. Somers returned to Yokosuka Nov 6 & departed Yokosuka once repairs where completed Nov 11. While in transit on Nov 22 we found out President Kennedy had been killed.
